Functional Therapy, OT for the 21st Century and Beyond. |

You’ve done the hard part. Your work paid off and you are an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant. Join our trade organization of OTs and OTAs and become a Registered Functional Therapist RFT® or Registered Functional Therapy Associate RFTA. Not an OT or OTA? There are membership options which allow you to support this movement but don’t allow the use of the RFT or RFTA Trademark. You’ll still receive other member benefits like discounted courses and other benefits. It’s a great thing to support a great thing. |

Our “Official” Web Site is an informational site designed to help people understand our field and how we can help. Currently, we are updating this site, come back soon. It is also a member’s site, application resource center and jumping off point for the many projects we are working on. As an OT you have had to explain Occupational Therapy many times. We work hard to share this important field with friends, family, colleagues and clients. Some time ago I started saying “We’d could also be called Functional Therapists.” Instantly there was a better understanding of the kinds of things I might be doing and why I would be doing it. A Registered Functional Therapist RFT®; or a Registered Functional Therapy Associate RFTA is a licensed OT or OTA providing Occupational Therapy services with this additional title. We use this title to help our patients understand that we are experts in helping them attain their optimal functional status. "The More You Do, Functional Therapists are able to help people get back to their lives. We work to get you doing more because "The More You Do, the More You Can Do!" In order to do that successfully we have worked to ensure that we do it right. We have received one Registered Trademark from the US Patent and Trademark office (www.USPTO.Gov) and have worked to understand how we can help promote our important field. Thank you for your interest in this exciting organization. Welcome ALOFT!
Yours, Ed Kaine, OT, RFT
